At the commencement of the UAE Innovation Week, as mandated by the Government, The National Council of Tourism and Antiquities hosted the Tourism Innovation Studio with the support of Ejtemaat Knowledge Network to encourage UAE tourism stakeholders and support their new drive for diversified economic growth.

The activities and initiatives of the agency like this workshop is a source for growth of innovation in the UAE, which will contribute to the diversification of the UAE economy and create more job opportunities.

A wide range of interesting innovation ideas were explored, discussed and shared at this workshop.

  • Flying a Drone outside the lab room
  • Designing and printing 3D objects using a 3D printer
  • Experiencing the Internet of Things concept, by activating a set of sensors and Single Board Computers connected to the internet to measure the room temperature and humidity and see the results in real time.
  • Testing some advanced smart mobile applications including a Virtual Reality App designed for tourist and residents
  • Understanding the concept of Open Data
